Happy Independence Day everyone!
We may not be in the USA but we sure celebrated in style.
Our country directors decorated the house
We started the day with a patriotic song...
After work we were invited to a wedding at our branch.
They asked us to sing- I suppose we are certainly becoming quite the choir.
Then it was off to Lepra Society.
They are one of our partners here and instead of US inviting THEM to a party for OUR independence day....they thew a party for us!
I whipped out the red lipstick...don't ask me why I have this in India
and then we were in true red-white-and blue form (I'm wearing white pants I promise)
The party was a blast.
They were all so complimentary of our country
They fed us tasty food and then asked us to sing our national anthem...
We obliged only if they would sing theirs as well
And then...they gave us gifts!
Really these people could not get any more nice...they did all this for us on a holiday they don't even celebrate!
We went home, made oreo milkshakes (someone invested in a blender recently)
and then had our own fireworks display
I LOVE FIREWORKS!
Great night among great friends!

haha yep RED REVIVAL. I'm so glad you own that now too.
ReplyDeleteThey gave us these cool wall hangings with elephants and peacocks on them.
and the fireworks were brought to us by everyone. Idea from the country directors, bought by someone in the group and paid for by all of us
it was SO FUN!
